FAQ for Trade Partners & Industry Professionals
Does Skyline use its own window treatment installers?
Yes. Our installers are Skyline employees rather than subcontracted installation crews. Keeping installation in-house allows us to provide consistent project management, communication, and installation service from the beginning of your project through completion.
Why should I partner with Skyline instead of another Hunter Douglas dealer?
Skyline was built to provide a highly supported experience for trade professionals. You’ll have a dedicated designer to collaborate with you on product selection and project details, along with a dedicated concierge—our showroom manager—to help coordinate samples, communication, scheduling, and other project needs. Our project management and in-house installation team help carry your vision through to the finished installation.
Does Skyline work with COM (Customer’s Own Material)?
We do not currently work with COM. Skyline offers Carole Fabrics for custom drapery, Roman shades, and fabric window treatments, with thousands of fabric options available. If you have a particular color, texture, pattern, or aesthetic in mind, our team can help you find a material that complements your project.
Do you offer custom drapery?
Yes. We design and install both functional and decorative custom drapery. Our team can also assist with drapery hardware and coordinating the drapery with shades and other window treatments for a finished, layered design.
How can I request fabric or material samples for a project?
We’re happy to assist with sample requests. Your dedicated Skyline concierge can coordinate samples and help you source materials for current and upcoming projects.
What kind of support does Skyline provide after installation?
Our relationship doesn’t end when the installation is complete. Skyline provides service calls, troubleshooting, and adjustments after the sale during the manufacturer’s warranty period. After-sale service and support are an important part of how we manage projects and maintain long-term relationships with our trade partners.
Who can partner with Skyline Window Coverings?
Skyline partners with interior designers, architects, builders, contractors, developers, and other industry professionals who need a trusted window treatment partner for their projects. Our team provides dedicated design support, project management, product and material sourcing, professional measurements, and in-house installation to help you manage window treatments from initial selections through final installation.
Why is Hunter Douglas the right brand for my client?
Quality and selection. While there might be other brands like Lutron and Courad, Hunter Douglas offers the largest collection including limitless smart integration and limited lifetime warranties.
How much involvement will I have in the process?
You choose. Our Trade Partners can involve themselves in as much or as little of the process as they like.
Are your prices competitive?
Of course. That said, we pride ourselves on our people and process paired with lasting service. We are often not the cheapest in town by design.
