At the start of the summer, Skyline Window Coverings launched a heartfelt campaign inviting nurses to apply, or be nominated, for a complimentary window treatment makeover. This initiative was created to honor the tireless dedication, compassion, and critical contributions of nurses within the healthcare system.
Nurses are often the first point of contact for patients and their families, providing not only medical care but also emotional support, advocacy, and comfort during some of life’s most challenging moments. Recognizing the demanding nature of their work and the profound impact they make every day, Skyline wanted to give back in a meaningful way. By transforming a space in their home, we hoped to offer a small gesture of gratitude—a touch of comfort and calm for those who so selflessly care for others.
Meet the Winner
We were overwhelmed by the heartfelt stories shared in the nominations, but one in particular stood out.
Diana Sand, a nurse and mother of a one-year-old son, submitted her own story:
“I’m a nurse and mother of a one-year-old boy. I started working in the hospital during the COVID pandemic and worked nights and weekends before stepping into my current role at a clinic, which allows me more time with my son. We’ve been working on a fixer-upper, untouched since the 1970s, and replacing the old Home Depot shades in our bedroom would be such a treat.”
Diana’s journey, both personal and professional, deeply resonated with us. Like so many nurses, she has given so much—working long, irregular hours, sacrificing sleep, and balancing family life, all while continuing to serve her community. We were honored to select her as our giveaway winner.

For the makeover, we focused on Diana’s bedroom—an essential space for rest and recovery. Working closely with her, our team selected custom window treatments that not only elevated the look of the room but also prioritized functionality. The result? Beautiful, light-blocking window coverings that help create the ideal sleep environment, day or night.
Whether catching up on rest after a night shift or enjoying quiet family time, Diana’s new window treatments are designed to promote peace, privacy, and comfort.
